Looking for a great haunted experience that’s worth the drive? Head to Mansfield! I took the trip this weekend for the Ohio State Reformatory’s Haunted Prison Experience, and boy, was it an experience indeed! The prison itself has been in countless videos and in the movies Air Force One and Shawshank Redemption, so it’s intimidating as soon as you drive up on the lot! Going through the prison itself is scary, add the demons and other creatures you expect for Halloween and you’ve got yourself a real scary scene! Have Fun!!

Wear Red!!! Women who wear red are seen as sexier by men than those who wear blue, white or gray! According to a study at the University of Rochester, women who wear red are 56% more likley to get asked out than a woman who is wearing the color blue! Does this mean when sporting our Buckeye red we’re more likely to get a date on football Saturdays? Let me know how the color Scarlett works for you this weekend ;-)

Are You Glowing?

If it’s one thing I’m absolutely fanatical about, it’s taking care of my skin! I slather on my lotion every morning after my shower and I wash my face every day and evey night, even when I’ve been out late and “don’t feel like it” and it’s paid off for me in a great way!  There’s nothing better than a healthy glow to make you feel good about…well, YOU! You know the glow I’m talking about, rigth? Like when you just finished a great workout, or when you see the person you love coming your way; you get the picture! And even though they can help mask the signs of aging,  having great skin isn’t just about expensive lotions and potions, (although, that is what the beauty industry would have us believe). Getting a healthy glow is also about taking care of yourself in other ways, like exercise, getting enough sleep (which I seem to struggle with regularly) keeping your stress down and eating healthy! Let’s face it, when we dine out (especially on fast food) more than we cook at home, it shows and adding  just a few natural items to the diet could be all it takes to go from dull to dewey in no time! Wanna power up your natural glow? Check out these tips from MSN on ‘10 foods that may improve your appearance’ and let me know how they work for you!

Ok, so I’m all about expressing yourself and being creative, but seriously folks, as much as I LALALALALOVE the eccentric Lady GaGa, (I think she is such a refreshing change from all the bubble gum girl artist’s that are out today) she went WAY overboard in the outfit department last night at the VMA’s, don’t you agree? Of course, seeing her on live television asking Eminem to hold her Best New Artist Moonman while she stripped herself of the ridiculous red lace hat thingy was priceless. Gotta love music and television :)

A Pizza Worth Traveling For?

September 8th, 2009 | By Trisha Moore in Uncategorized | No Comments »

You bet! Part of my Labor Day celebrating was spent road tripping to the Ohio River town of Belpre, on the border of Ohio and West Virginia; the scenery is just beautiful and it was a perfect weekend to visit! After my buddy Dave and I finished watching the OSU vs Navy game, we headed to one of my favorite places, Davinci’s Restaurtant in Vienna, West Virginia for one of the best pizza’s this girl has ever tasted! Davinci’s German Pizza, a unique blend of corned beef, sauerkraut, cheese and a tangy horseradish sauce all perfectly blended on a crispy pizza crust! The German Pizza is very filling and you’ll definitely have leftovers!! If you’re someone who enjoy’s trying something different, I suggest you plan a day trip to Vienna, West Virgina for Davinci’s German Pizza (it’s a beautiful drive in the fall) or have one sent to you! The German Pizza is such a popular item, they actually sell a frozen version to take home anytime. Get the details on Davinici’s by clicking the link above! Happy Eating :)

Fall Beauty

With all of us on a tight budget these days, updating the wardrobe each season isn’t as frequent as it used to be; well, for this girl any way. So, because I know I’m going to be working with the clothes I already have in my closet this season, I’m turning to the new makeup colors for fall to update my wardrobe! There are some great hues and the most popular seem to be straight from the Twilight cast. Allure Magazine is forecasting the Top 7 Makeup Looks for Fall and matte gray eyeshadow, dark bordeaux “Twilight” vampire colors for lips and cobalt eyeliner are on the list. I’ve already tried a couple of these looks and have to say they are pretty hot! See how to incorporate the looks for yourself by clicking the link above. Here’s to getting gorgeous!

Sometimes Smaller Is Better

With Fall just moments away, mini road trips to inexpensive destinations can be a great way to get in some extra vacation time with the family before winter settles in! My favorite time of year is Fall for various reasons (football, sweatshirts, beautiful color blanketing the state…) and hopping in the car and randomly showing up somewhere new is something I love to do!! So imagine my pleasant surprise when I came across an article on MSN showcasing some of the best small towns to visit around the country and Yellow Springs, Ohio on the list! It’s been years since I visited this unique town (home to comedian Dave Chapelle) and I’m thinking they are first on my list of Fall road trip destinations. No matter what your budget, a short road trip is a great way to catch up with your family or friends and discovering new places you hadn’t thought of before! Enjoy the ride :)
